In this must-be-on-a-social-network age, I guess it was only a matter of time before somebody made a smart phone app related to the new Heroes game. Well, Nick T has made an application for android/google phones that helps people while playing.

"I have made an app for android called CreatureDex, where you can check the different abilities and strengths for the various creatures and artifacts. I was hoping you guys would come with ideas and corrections, and i will try to update it often.

This is how it works: When playing, you have your phone next to you helping you to determinate if the creature is too strong, if he is too fast to get killed with your archers or something. Also I recently updated 50 artifacts, so now you can right-click on the artifact and then use the app to check how good it is an determine if it is worth attacking for.
Example: A Crusher horde is protecting an Alchemist Rope. You battle it and lose a lot just to find out that it requires Magic Affinity 1, which you do not have."

By all means, gamers have relied on material offering them a helping hand ever since games became popular; walkthroughs of story games, hints and tips, Internet websites, calculators helping with odds calculations, specialized programs you can find online and more. Now that smart phones have really made their mark on people's electronic day-to-day lives, it is only logical to have them work as tools to improve our gaming experience too.

In other news, Ubi's Twitter followers are invited to participate in a quiz to possibly win entry to the next Beta phase (August 8-20):

"Be the first to give a full and correct answer and get an exclusive Beta key! Take your chance every day of the week! If you're not a follower yet, start right now!"
