Gamasutra reports that Ubisoft saw a significant increase in revenue during the first quarter, which ended on June 30. The increase to €70 million, compared to the expected €60 million, is a 62 percent gain over the previous year. Over 570,000 units were sold for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced WarFighter, while Heroes of Might & Magic V sold through more than 350,000 units. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had the following to say: "Ubisoft had a very good start of the year thanks to the success of Heroes of Might & Magic V on the PC and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, the highest selling game on the Xbox 360 in 2006."

Now that there is a proof that the Might and Magic franchise is still viable in 2006, it would be nice to see some of that money being reused to further fund the ongoing development of the game. Many fans will need more maps and fixes, not to mention the upcoming map editor, before they can consider buying an expansion pack.
