Game: Part of the Whole

Unread postby Corribus » 29 May 2006, 18:47

I believe we only have two games going on right now, correct? How about a new one.

General Idea: The Chooser selects a picture of an object, crops it so that only part of the object is visible, and The Guessers must determine what the object is.

Rules are somewhat similar to Hangman game. This is not a scored game, unless people want it to be.

Rules:

1. The object must either be a common object, or a relatively well-known unique object. What is "relatively well-known" is left to the descretion of the Chooser, within reason. (For instance - Buckingham Palace is an acceptible unique object; your house is not.)

2. The Chooser must provide a general category for the object.

3. There are three initial free guesses.

4. A Guesser must wait until the Chooser responds to the guess before Guessing again. Other Guessers may also guess, though, in the meantime.

5. If a guess is wrong, a free guess is consumed, if one is available. If no free guess is available, the Guesser is eliminated from further guesses in the current round (i.e., he is "Hung").

6 When a Guesser is eliminated by the Chooser, a new free guess becomes available. Free guesses are awarded after the elimination, not after the incorrect guess.

7. If three people are eliminated, the Chooser must post an expanded view of the object as a hint.

8. The correct Guesser becomes the new Chooser. The Old chooser posts the entire object for everyone to see, with, perhaps, the cut-out area highlighted.

9. There is no score; game continues until Kalah shutserdown.

10. Suggestions for rule changes are welcome!

Note: It will probably be necessary for you to crop your own pictures. To upload your own pictures, see the help topic here.

To get things going, I'll be the first Chooser. We'll start with a simple one.

I first read the title as "Part of the Whale"... :loll:

Anyhow: a peach?

Actually, there are more game-threads still unlocked. Look here.

I'll guess right away since it looks familiar: London's Times Square?

I was going to say New York's Times Square. (eh, perhaps the whole free guesses thing is not needed - we play sort of like the Seek, Find, Post game, but without the score?)

Game Approved.

This is an excellent idea, it's nice to see something original for a change. :-D
