Might and Magic mods, projects and stuff (updated)
Re: Might and Magic mods, projects and stuff (updated)
I know this is a big necropost but... does anyone have the finished mods from the OP?
all the links are dead including http://www.mediafire.com/BDJs
BDJ is the author himself I believe.
I'm specifically hoping to find MM7Rev4modR1 and Might and Magic VI: The Chaos Conspiracy

Hi, I want to show you a project I'm working on:
https://www.facebook.com/mm7.fan.remake/
(more screenshots & videos on the facebook page)
I was going to create a crowdfunding campaign to finish it, with no commercial benefit, and just distribute it among the backers. But it appears that I'll will be in trouble, even if it's non profit. I have worked on it full time during 4 months. If I change to do this on spare time, it will die as so many other MM projects.
One thing I could do is change all the portraits, items, spells, shop background videos (hard!). But I don't know if it has any sense, this would take more time & resources, and it may loose the MM feeling.
What do you think?

I love it.
without the gfx, sounds and story of MM7, that's not mm anymore ^^;;
I dunno how you can finance this... you saw about Patreon side ?

Re: Might and Magic mods, projects and stuff (updated)
I've been investigating and with Patreon the same copyright issues happens
I'll change all the gfx, sounds and story, and it'll be MM7 inspired, but not a fan remake. Not my first intention, but what can be done.
I think MM7 fans will like it!

Re: Might and Magic mods, projects and stuff (updated)
The screens and videos look very appealing. Replacing every sound and graphic is, indeed, likely to damage the feeling. Put a donate link on your homepage and promote your site in MM communities? Considering their low activity, not likely to get enough attention though... If i only would have a few spare millions :p

Re: Might and Magic mods, projects and stuff (updated)
So I left the MM7 remake idea and came to the idea of making a first person party-based free movement RPG, inspired on MM678 and Wizardry 8.
New story, changed all the gfx, sounds. I'm using the MaestroMod art (thanks Maestro!), so I think the feeling may not be damaged.

Hi everyone,
Not sure if it's the right place to post this.
A few months ago I was interviewed by a Russian fan community about Might & Magic, and a few questions revolved around what Might & Magic XI could have been, had it been done. I also talk a bit about the scrapped add-on for MMXL.
The the first part of the interview is now online (entirely in Russian ^^') for those of you interested.
Cheers!
Julien

Part 2 of the interview is online, it's a bit more focused on lore and Heroes.
