Gerry Anderson, whose many shows (Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet in particular) were watched religiously at home when I was growing up.

Just heard my grandma died. She was old and had Alzheimer's but still. It does put a slight damper on the mood.

Jeff Hanneman died at age 49, he was a great artist (founder, songwriter and guitar player of Slayer). Extreme music lost a great musician.

:rip: Peter O'Toole, dies at 81.

While people remember him best from Lawrence of Arabia, more recently he featured in The Tudors and Troy. For myself, I always recognized him when he popped up in roles like these; the traits of a great actor may well be diversity and longevity - O'Toole definitely had both.

RIP Egon, and thank you for one of the best comedy films ever made, that is Groundhog Day.

It saddens me greatly to read of the much too premature death of Rik Mayall, aged only 56.

Mostly known from in "The young ones" and "Bottom", to me he will always be the rampant, rude, rough and ridiculous Lord Flashheart.

I salute his parting from this world with a hearty roar, consisting of those immortal words:

WOOF WOOF!!

Benecloud

Unread postby StoneCold » 27 Jun 2014, 16:42

Not sure if anyone remembers Benecloud from the OLD NWC/3DO forums, but on Tuesday, July 24 he passed away.
Bene loved Might and Magic and played them all, even the bad ones.
He was a true friend a most of all a great person.
He will be missed.

RIP Roger Freeman (Benecloud)

I do vaguely remember Benecloud. It's been a long time since we were posting in the old NWC/3DO forums. I'm sad to hear he is gone. Goodbye Benecloud … Rest in Peace.

James Garner kicked the bucket, aged 86. He's one of the regulars at Hollywood in my book, having been there for half a century, churning out series and films of all kinds. If you have ever seen any movies from Hollywood, chances are you will have seen this guy.

Most known is the Maverick characters and The Rockford files, of course, but for the younger viewers he also played in Space Cowboys, the Disney film of Atlantis and Kaley Cuoco's breakthrough series 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.

I am not one of the younger members and I remember him from Maverick and the Rockford files. Both series are currently playing on a few cable networks here in the US. :rip:
