Video about the Might and Magic series

Unread postby trioptimum » 28 Mar 2015, 15:51

Hello all. A long time lurker here.

I've just finished up a 13-minute documentary about the Might and Magic series and the rise and fall of NWC. I spent weeks of spare time researching this thing (lots of searching these forums included) and months learning my way around Premiere and After Effects and cutting it together; it turned into quite the undertaking.

I hope it's OK to link it here. The project's a labour of love, I'm not benefitting from it, and this is the best audience to pick holes in it. I'd love to know what people think, and if I've made any grievous factual errors.

Oh yeah, the video...

A big thumbs up, great video.

I'm not that familiar with M&M cRPG part of the universe and the people behind the original franchise and your video shed some light upon these matters :-D I've been planning for a long time to start playing the original M&M cRPG games but so far I have failed to do so. I will play them though at one point since I love the original Might and Magic story the one NWC and 3DO created.

Well, your video coaxed another lurker into making an account... Just so I could say nice work! I enjoyed watching and as someone who came into the series around VII, I definitely learned a few things on the way.

So thanks!

Hah, I'm in the credits, thanks! :)

Pretty good overview. Though the question of which version is the best to play can be answered easily by one word: PC. Every single game in the series is best on DOS (where applicable). All ports looked flashy but were of terrible coding quality.
