It has been a while, but LOE is not dead. I have completed some very important script upgrades and am currently working on making towns similar to Xeen. You know, the fun stuff... fighting monsters.. weird things like the beggar who attacks you, etc.

Here is some official artwork created for LOE by me. This is a piece of concept art of the main hero of Erthia, Maximus.

"Erthia's main hero, Maximus. He was born in Felicia but eventually left at a young age to pursue his dream of becoming a paladin. Now, at the age of 34... Maximus is back in Felicia with his old childhood friends, Catherine and Priam. Soon... the entire world of Erthia's fate will be determined by these friends and others! Armageddon..."

That looks excellent!
It would be great to have this game on the heals of Legacy. :)

@Variol"
Thanks Variol!!! Got some good stuff coming and progress is going great now!

Here is another piece of official LOE art, Catherine, the second main hero in the game.

"Catherine, she is Maximus' childhood friend, both born in Felicia. They spent a lot of time together while growing up. Catherine often tries to hide her emotions because she likes being the tough girl, but you will often see that she’s just a soft kind hearted soul and deeply cares for her childhood friend, Maximus. Coming from a family background of clergy and order, Catherine decided to follow her family's background and become a cleric. She spent many years in Castlguard studying. She is determined to eventually become a High Priestess. Years later... Maximus now 34 and Catherine now 32 were finally reunited back in Felicia for the last couple of years."

Here is some more official LOE art:

"Catherine is sweet and warm hearted, but she is also strong-willed and brave."

Image

"Celesta, beautiful, charming, but innocent? Celesta is a clever and experienced thief with her own desires for riches and loot. You will often see her hanging around the taverns."

Image

"The Serpent of the Void... a creature of pure mystery. Not much is known about this hydra-like beast, for nobody has lived to tell the story who have encountered one if anyone has at all... This legendary creature was mentioned in an ancient scroll from 1000 years ago, the time of the great devastation where Erthia was almost completely destroyed. The scroll describes the Serpent of the Void as a powerful beast from the Etheral Void... the parallel world."

Sorry for the lack of updates guys... I have been dealing with bad health problems over the last few months, and more severe over the last few weeks. My eating has been crippled... basically it takes me 3 hours to eat a basic hamburger. Every time I try to eat something I choke and am gasping for air because the food isn't processing. I have been to the doctors and there is nothing they can do. They have referred me to an ENT (Ear Nose Throat) specialist which could take a while. My next step is going to the hospital emergency. Hopefully, they will be able to fix me up. I have been working on LOE slightly in between these conditions but not nearly as much as I wanted to.

Rest a assured, once I get better... LOE will be at 200% progress rate.

Thank you friends and fans for your support on this project. It has been rough road these last few months, but all in all I am a bit better than before. I still haven't found the Divine Intervention book yet, but I'm sure it will turn up eventually.

Anyways, I am back to work full time on LOE Armageddon. Progress is going in a good direction. The system has been revamped for optimal creation, this will speed things up dramatically. Example: Instead of making thousands of lines of coding for every single object to respawn in the world, I now have single ids for each object which will manipulate each type.

Lots of work is going on right now. I try to post here as much as I can, but facebook is the most up to date for info on LOE.

@fester:
Thanks a lot, bud. I am not 100% better yet, but at least I can function better now. Also, thank you so much for the support on LOE. The Legend of Erthia has been my dream for a very long time. The lore and ideas started as early as when I was about 12 years old when LOE was simply called Fantasy World. The last few years I have been able to make that dream come true. I will never give up on this project, I want it complete! I have been wanting this project to be complete for most of my life, and now I am so close! Thanks again, Fester.

Okay, some more updates. This weekend I covered quite a bit of stuff. Previously, I found some bugs in regards to randomly generated fountains and barrels. Basically, what would happen is if you decided not to drink out of the fountain or barrel, left the area, and then returned the barrel or fountain would change its property. EX:Used to be a blue liquid an now it's a yellow liquid.

So, I fixed all of that up so now LOE has a world of completely randomized barrels and fountains which is generated on each new game. Another thing I changed was traps! Traps are also randomly generated per game. The way traps used to work was that if you triggered it they would vanish, a one time trap. Now, you need to detect and disarm it in order for the trap to vanish. Also, you can no longer rest when creatures are nearby. I had this in before but it wasn't working properly. Problem solved!

I have spent a lot of the weekend going back through all the maps and replacing all of the old stuff with the new updated objects. I still got some maps left to cover but a lot are done.

Just for some lore, this is Suzaku, the guardian of fire:
https://www.facebook.com/thelegendofert ... 51/?type=1

The elements indeed play an important role in the world of Erthia. I was inspired by Final Fantasy Legend's Suzaku! So, I brought this creature into the world. Suzaku is one of my all time favourites for video game villains. For those who have played FFL for gameboy will know how much trouble this creature gave if you didn't know what to do.

Lastly, I did some more composing work. This is the newly arranged them to LOE: Armageddon.

Hey, it's great that the project is still alive, however I couldn't help noticing, that the excitement for it has dropped.

Any chances for something more than a concept art? A demo would be great (I do believe it was planned, like over a year ago). Or a video presentation / a new trailer. Or at least a set of screenshots so we can take a look at what's new.

Good luck with the project!

Thanks Acid Dragon,

A demo was considered, but it was never definite. Yeah, LOE was in a bit of a dark age for a while due to my own situation. However, it is back on track and stuff is getting done.

I do have plans for new screenshots and a full gameplay video, but again... a demo is still in consideration because I have so much done and it would be more worth it just to play LOE in its final form.

Anyways, thanks again for the support on the project!

Some more cool updates on LOE - Armageddon!

I have nearly finished updating the world with all of the newly scripted parameter enhancing objects such as fountains, barrels, magic pots, etc. As mentioned before, this will make adding these objects to future maps much more easier, and everything is random per game. No two games will be alike.

Also, I am now in the middle of creating a new cave! It's a pretty fair sized map, 65 by 65 grid tiles. This is quite a large size for the 3D Perspective, so you can expect a lot of loot, traps, monsters, EXP, exploration, and you know... the Might and Magic stuff!

Unfortunately, linking images from facebook no longer works here at CH, so you will have to click the link so see the image.

@Rune_Caster:
Yes, Ultima VII is my favourite RPG of all time. More specifically Serpent Isle! I remember the mountain of Freedom, or how about the dream world where you have an infinity bow! U7 is the best!

@Oanda Tar:
I use Sonar Cakewalk X3 and mostly the Vienna Symphonic Library for instruments.
